Temporary non-resident Taka account (NRTA) for foreign investors

Scheduled bank branches in Bangladesh are permitted to open temporary non-resident Taka accounts for foreign investors, a function previously restricted to Authorized Dealers. These branches must maintain suitable arrangements with Authorized Dealers or Central Processing Centers to receive foreign exchange in their nostro accounts abroad. Authorized Dealers or Central Processing Centers are required to issue prescribed certificates for inward remittances and handle dividend remittance, disinvestment, and routine reporting on behalf of the account-opening branch.
