Total Loss Absorbing Capacity (TLAC) Disclosure Requirements Guideline

OSFI’s guideline establishes mandatory disclosure requirements for Canadian Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) regarding Total Loss Absorbing Capacity (TLAC). The framework mandates quarterly reporting using standardized templates commencing with the January 31, 2019 reporting period to ensure consistent measurement of loss-absorbing capacity and regulatory capital. Institutions must publish these disclosures on their websites with a 12-month archive and align them with Basel Committee Pillar 3 standards to enhance market discipline and support orderly resolution.
