Utah Residence Lien Recovery Fund Depleted
The Utah Department of Commerce’s Division of Professional Licensing announced that the Residence Lien Recovery Fund is officially depleted after its remaining balance was exhausted. Homeowners remain protected from double payment through the Certificate of Compliance, which requires proving due diligence such as hiring a licensed contractor and paying in full. Unpaid subcontractors and suppliers must now pursue standard legal avenues for collection rather than relying on the former state-funded safety net.
