SEBI Master Circular for Research Analysts
The Securities and Exchange Board of India issued this Master Circular to consolidate all applicable directions for Research Analysts effective May 15, 2024, superseding the previous June 2023 compilation. The document establishes a new administrative and supervisory framework where stock exchanges act as Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Bodies, while mandating strict procedural guidelines for proxy advisors and grievance redressal mechanisms. It further requires Research Analysts to disclose investor complaints monthly, adhere to data security advisories regarding Software as a Service solutions, and obtain prior SEBI approval for any change in control.
