International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) (Afghanistan) Order, 2018

The Governor-General of The Bahamas issued this Order to implement United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning Afghanistan by imposing comprehensive asset freezes, arms and economic embargoes, and travel bans on designated individuals and entities associated with ISIL and Al-Qaida. Financial institutions must promptly freeze funds and economic resources of listed parties, while prohibiting direct or indirect trade in arms, petroleum products, and illegally removed cultural property with these entities. The Order establishes designated focal points across Bahamian ministries to coordinate with UN committees, outlines exemption and delisting procedures for mistaken identities or extraordinary expenses, and mandates continuous reporting to the Financial Intelligence Unit.
