Notice Regarding International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act: ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List Amendments

Amendments were made to the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions list by the United Nations Security Council Committee on 13 August 2026, updating entries for three individuals and one entity. The Securities Commission of The Bahamas requires its licensees and registrants to immediately determine if they hold or control funds or other assets of, or provide services to, any identified person or entity, and to freeze such assets without delay or prior notice. Any match, suspected match, or attempted transaction must be reported forthwith to the Commission using the Targeted Financial Sanctions Reporting Form. Failure to submit required reports is an offense punishable by a fine not exceeding $250,000.00, and non-compliant licensees and registrants may also face disciplinary action including a minimum fine of $200.00 per day.
