The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System issued a final rule amending Regulation D to establish the interest on reserve balances rate at 4.65 percent, effective November 8, 2024. The Board also updated statutory reserve requirement thresholds for 2025 by setting the exemption amount at $37.8 million and the low reserve tranche at $645.8 million. These adjustments reflect annual indexation based on deposit data but do not alter the zero percent reserve requirement ratios currently in effect for depository institutions.
