Administrative Ruling on Currency Transaction Reports for Sole Proprietorships

The ruling requires that Currency Transaction Reports for transactions involving a sole proprietorship include identifying information for both the business and its owner. Specifically, a separate Section A must be completed for the owner using their name, address, and Social Security Number or Individual Tax Identification Number, and another Section A must be completed for the sole proprietorship using its name, Doing Business As name, address, and Employer Identification Number. The 'multiple persons' box in Item 1 must also be checked on the report.
