The regulator amends Policy Statement 81-101 to establish clearer criteria for mutual funds when choosing between slip sheet and amended and restated simplified prospectus filings. The updated guidance requires funds to prioritize investor understanding by consolidating multiple slip sheet amendments into a single restated document when changes are substantial. Additionally, the policy clarifies that fund facts documents filed without a prospectus must strictly limit updates to specific financial metrics unless a material change under Regulation 81-106 is involved.
