Anti-Money Laundering Regulations for Dealers in Antiquities

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network solicits public comment on implementing Section 6110 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020, which amends the Bank Secrecy Act to include persons engaged in the trade of antiquities within the definition of financial institution. Written comments regarding the scope, thresholds, exemptions, and specific obligations for dealers, advisors, and consultants must be received by October 25, 2021. This advance notice of proposed rulemaking seeks initial input to assist in preparing proposed rules required by December 27, 2021.
