Anti-Money Laundering Regulations for Real Estate Transactions
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network is issuing an advance notice of proposed rulemaking to solicit public comment on potential requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act for persons involved in real estate transactions to collect, report, and retain information. The agency seeks input on the scope of regulations, including which persons should be subject to requirements, the types of real estate purchases covered, the information to be reported, geographic scope, and appropriate reporting dollar-value thresholds.
