Board Resolution No. 061/2015 Approving the New Regulation on Monetization, Distribution, and Destruction of Monetary Material
The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves the new Regulation on Monetization, Distribution, and Destruction of Monetary Material, which establishes rules for the authorization, accounting, and dissemination of new currency, as well as distribution structures for ATMs and the withdrawal and physical destruction of unfit notes and coins. The regulation mandates that financial entities with multi-tray ATMs distribute specific Bolivian denominations, requires the Central Bank to authorize the sending of monetary remittances to banking intermediaries, and sets strict conditions for the partial or total reproduction of currency images. These provisions apply to the Central Bank of Bolivia, banking financial intermediation entities, and other relevant financial service providers, entering into force on May 4, 2015.
