BRPD Circular Letter No. 09: Purchase of Fixed Assets by Banks
Banks are prohibited from purchasing or leasing land, buildings, or floor space for purposes other than their own head office use, except for purchasing or leasing floor space for bank branches located in areas under city corporations. Banks must apply to Bangladesh Bank for prior approval for such acquisitions or leases, submitting specific details including property schedules, valuations, director affiliations, and board resolutions. This directive is effective immediately.
