The Connecticut Department of Banking issued enforcement actions against entities operating as check cashing or debt negotiation services without required licenses. Prime 978, LLC had a temporary cease and desist order filed, while United Processing Center, Inc. was ordered to cease operations and pay a $100,000 civil penalty. Additionally, the civil penalty against 1st American Debt Solutions was reduced to $10,000, and the scope of required fee repayments to Connecticut residents was modified. Written comments on these matters must be submitted within ten days of the bulletin date.
