The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has extended the public comment period for its November 2023 proposal to update Regulation II's debit card interchange fee cap and routing rules. The deadline for submitting comments is moved from February 12, 2024, to May 12, 2024, to allow interested parties additional time to review the proposal and prepare feedback. Additionally, the Board is making available further data on its website to assist the public in commenting on the proposed methodology for determining the base component of the interchange fee cap.
