The Hong Kong Monetary Authority urges authorized institutions to actively participate in the Commercial Data Interchange to enhance risk management and financial intermediation efficiency. Following a successful proof-of-concept that approved over HK$900 million in SME loans, the regulator plans to integrate the system with credit rating agencies and the Companies Registry. Institutions with significant SME financing activities are expected to connect to the CDI by the end of 2022.
