Circular CIRMO 3-127: Presentation of Potentially Counterfeit Cash
The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) issued Communication A 8439 to mandate a system transition for financial entities, exchange houses, agencies, and securities transporters regarding the presentation of potentially counterfeit cash. Effective June 1, 2026, these institutions must submit a designated user letter to activate the new ERP System for managing cash retention records, while discontinuing uploads in the legacy application. The regulation establishes strict procedural requirements for retaining, documenting, and submitting Argentine banknotes/coins and US dollars presumed false or valueless, including specific forms, timelines, and expert adjudication processes.
