Effective March 17, 2003, the delivery of banknotes and coins identified as counterfeit or of dubious legitimacy for examination must follow the regionalization criteria specified in Communication 10.282 of October 17, 2002, regarding the area of operation of the Circulating Medium Department.

Provides for the withdrawal from circulation of national banknotes and coins identified as counterfeit or of dubious legitimacy.
The Central Bank of Brazil, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Article 10, item II, of Law 4.595 of December 31, 1964, and observing the content of paragraph 29 of Circular Letter 3.003 of April 16, 2002, informs that, from March 17, 2003, the delivery for examination of banknotes and coins identified as counterfeit or of dubious legitimacy, to the Circulating Medium Department or its regional components, must observe the regionalization criteria specified in Communication 10.282 of October 17, 2002, regarding the area of operation of the Circulating Medium Department.
