Circular No. 1485 — Amends Limits for Repo Operations Involving Fixed Income Securities Under Resolution No. 1,088/1986

CIRCULAR NO. 001485

We communicate that the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Brazil, in a session held on May 15, 1989, having regard to the provisions of Article 30 of the Regulation attached to Resolution No. 1,088 of January 30, 1986, decided to amend the limits for carrying out repo operations governed by the aforementioned Regulation, establishing:

a) Institutions authorized under Article 7: up to 30 (thirty) times the calculation base, for operations with:

I - federal public bonds;

II - state and municipal public bonds, limited to 10 (ten) times the calculation base;

III - private bonds, limited to 3 (three) times the calculation base;

b) Institutions authorized under Article 8: up to 15 (fifteen) times the calculation base, for operations with:

I - federal public bonds;

II - state and municipal public bonds, limited to 10 (ten) times the calculation base;

III - private bonds, limited to 3 (three) times the calculation base.

2. This Circular shall enter into force on the date of its publication, and Circular No. 1,453 of February 28, 1989 is hereby revoked.
