D E C I D E D:
Article 1. Establish the obligation to prepare and submit to the Central Bank of Brazil, by multiple banks, by commercial banks, and by Caixa Econômica Federal, at the end of each civil quarter, the International Banking Statistics document - EBI, starting from the reference date of June 30, 2001, inclusive.
Paragraph 1. The provisions of this article do not apply to institutions that have a zero balance regarding the asset and liability positions contained in the EBI, provided that this condition is communicated to the Central Bank of Brazil/Department of Registration and Information of the Financial System (DECAD), also observing that the occurrence of a positive balance will entail the need for immediate communication of the fact to that Department.
Paragraph 2. Multiple banks without a commercial portfolio are exempt from submitting the information referred to in the caput.
Paragraph 3. The structure of the EBI will be the subject of subsequent disclosure.
Paragraph 4. The EBI must be submitted within 45 days after the respective reference date, observing the following coding of the Document Catalog (CADOC):
