2010-03-25 | Resolução CMN 3849Added
Financial institutions with micro-enterprise clients must establish an ombudsman component, segregating it from internal audit and ensuring free, public access via updated telephone numbers. The ombudsman must resolve complaints within fifteen days, maintain records for five years, and submit semi-annual reports to the Central Bank of Brazil, subject to external audit review. Commercial banks and similar entities must house the component internally, with staff certified in ethics and mediation. This resolution replaces Resolutions No. 3,477 and No. 3,489 and enters into force upon publication.
