CMN Resolution No. 5,207 — Amends CMN Resolution No. 4,958 and Resolution No. 4,557 regarding minimum capital requirements and risk management

RESOLUTION
CMN NO. 5,207, OF APRIL 30, 2025

Amends CMN Resolution No. 4,958, of October 21, 2021, which provides for the calculation of minimum requirements for Reference Equity – RE, Level I and Principal Capital and for the Principal Capital Surcharge – PCS, and Resolution No. 4,557, of February 23, 2017, which provides for the risk management structure, the capital management structure, and the information disclosure policy.

The Central Bank of Brazil, in accordance with Art. 9 of Law No. 4,595, of December 31, 1964, makes public that the National Monetary Council, in an ordinary session held on April 24, 2025, based on Arts. 4, caput, items VIII and XI, of said Law, and 20, § 1, of Law No. 4,864, of November 29, 1965, in Law No. 6,099, of September 12, 1974, and in Arts. 1 and 12 of Complementary Law No. 130, of April 17, 2009,

Art. 1. CMN Resolution No. 4,958, of October 21, 2021, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on October 25, 2021, shall enter into force with the following alterations:

• RWAMPAD, relating to the calculation of the capital required for market risk through standardized approaches;

• RWADRC, relating to exposures to credit risk of financial instruments classified in the trading portfolio;

• RWACVA, relating to exposures to the risk of variation in the value of derivative financial instruments resulting from the variation in the credit quality of the counterparty; and

• RWASENS, relating to the sensitivity-based approach for instruments subject to market risk.

4. The RWASENS component applies only to the institution classified in Segment 1 – S1 or Segment 2 – S2 or Segment 3 – S3, in accordance with Resolution No. 4,553, of January 30, 2017.

5. The components RWAJUR1, RWAJUR2, RWAJUR3,
RWAJUR4, RWAACS, RWACOM and RWACAM apply only to the institution classified in Segment 4 – S4, in accordance with Resolution No.
4,553, of January 30, 2017.” (NR)

Art. 2. Resolution No. 4,557, of February 23, 2017, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on March 1, 2017, shall enter into force with the following alterations:

Art. 4. This Resolution enters into force on January 1, 2027.
