Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2579 on regulatory technical standards for credit institution authorisation applications

The European Commission adopted Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2579 to specify the information investment firms must provide when applying for authorisation as credit institutions under Article 8a of Directive 2013/36/EU. The regulation mandates that such applications comply with the requirements of Articles 3 to 10 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2580, while allowing competent authorities to request additional proportionate information or waive certain requirements based on the applicant's size and complexity. It also permits applicants to omit information related to activities not included in their programme of operations, provided they identify the omission and cite the relevant provision. This regulation entered into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
