The European Commission adopts Regulation (EU) 2017/1469 to establish a standardized presentation format for the insurance product information document required under Directive (EU) 2016/97. The regulation mandates that non-life insurance manufacturers present specific information using defined headings, plain language, and specific icons, while restricting the document to a maximum of three A4 pages. It further prohibits the use of ticks, crosses, or exclamation marks to precede information about add-ons and optional covers. This regulation entered into force on 1 September 2017 and is binding in all Member States.
