Completion Instructions for Return of Large Exposures Form MA(BS)28

Authorized institutions must report large exposures to counterparties, linked groups, non-bank connected parties, and group affiliates on a quarterly basis, with submissions due no later than one month after the quarter end. The instructions define exposure values, including calculations for exposures before and after credit risk mitigation, and specify how to handle indirect exposures and intragroup transactions. Overseas incorporated institutions are required to apply specific credit risk adjustment and default risk calculation methods, such as the SA-CCR approach, while adhering to defined reporting bases for their Hong Kong offices or consolidated positions.
