Counter Terrorism Designations; North Korea Designations and Designation Update; Counter Narcotics Designation Removal
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control added multiple individuals and entities to the Specially Designated Nationals List for facilitating North Korea IT worker fraud and supporting Hamas-linked sham charities. The designations impose secondary sanctions risks and prohibit transactions by U.S. financial institutions against the targeted actors, including specific digital currency addresses. Additionally, the Treasury removed three aliases of a Honduran national from the list and updated digital currency records for a North Korean-linked individual.
