CP16/40: Enhancing conduct of business rules for firms providing contract for difference products to retail clients

The Financial Conduct Authority proposes enhancing the conduct of business regime for firms providing contracts for difference products to retail clients. The proposals include standardised risk warnings, mandatory disclosure of profit-loss ratios, capping leverage at a maximum of 50:1 for experienced retail clients and 25:1 for inexperienced clients, and prohibiting the use of bonuses or benefits to promote these products. The consultation on these measures closes on 7 March 2017.
