CSSF Regulation No 21-01 of 31 March 2021 on the Setting of the Countercyclical Buffer Rate for the Second Quarter of 2021

The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier sets the countercyclical buffer rate at 0.50% for relevant exposures located in Luxembourg for the second quarter of 2021. This decision, effective from 1 January 2021, maintains the existing rate based on a credit-to-GDP gap below the 2% activation threshold and stable bank resilience despite potential systemic risks from credit growth. The regulation was adopted following consultation with the Banque Centrale du Luxembourg and non-objection from the European Central Bank.
