Customer Due Diligence Requirements for Financial Institutions; Correction

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network makes technical corrections to a final rule regarding customer due diligence standards for covered financial institutions, including banks, brokers, dealers, mutual funds, and futures commission merchants. The corrections update the Certification Form in Appendix A to 31 CFR 1024.230 by changing the term "foreign persons" to "non-U.S. persons," adding "Type" to a section heading, and inserting "Social Security number" in relevant tables and footnotes. Additionally, the agency reinserts an inadvertently omitted training element into 31 CFR 1024.210(b) for mutual fund anti-money laundering programs. These corrections are effective September 28, 2017, with an applicability date of May 11, 2018.
