Customer Identification Program Rule – Address Confidentiality Programs

FinCEN authorizes an exception to the Customer Identification Program requirement that financial institutions obtain a customer's residential or business street address. This exception applies to customers participating in state-created Address Confidentiality Programs, allowing them to be treated as not having a street address. Financial institutions must instead collect the street address of the ACP sponsoring agency or designated state agent to comply with the rules.
