Rule · CVM · 10 Apr 2008
Administrators of organized markets must submit derivative contract models to the CVM for approval before trading begins, including details on settlement, limits, and underlying assets. The CVM grants approval within 30 business days, or automatically if silent. Market administrators must also establish public approval rules, disclose underlying asset prices, and maintain analysis documentation for five years post-termination. Contracts registered but not traded in organized markets are approved by the market administrator, exempting them from CVM approval. Non-compliance with these approval requirements constitutes a serious offense.
