Rule · CVM · 4 Jul 1990
Stock Exchanges must observe physical compensation procedures for spot, forward, futures, options, and similar market transactions. They must maintain current account control systems updated with each request and render accounts to each other on the first business day of each fortnight, delivering owed items and extinguishing debits and credits. If an exchange lacks instruments for delivery, it bears the total acquisition cost via auction and pays the creditor exchange via bank credit order the day following notification. Exchanges are liable to each other for the legitimacy of delivered securities and must send necessary data to bookkeeping service providers in time for settlement.
