CVM Instruction No. 218 of August 12, 1994

CVM Instruction No. 218 authorizes stock exchanges and clearing and custody companies to invest their own resources or those under their administration in organized markets for future settlement referenced in stocks or indices representing securities. Sales in these markets are restricted exclusively to hedging existing long positions up to the extent held, prohibiting short selling or operations that increase portfolio risk. The instruction entered into force on the date of its publication and repealed Article 12 of CVM Instruction No. 36 of August 8, 1984.
