Ease of regulatory compliances for FPIs investing only in Government Securities

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) investing exclusively in Government Securities are no longer required to furnish investor group details. This modification removes a sub-paragraph from Para 1 of Part A of the Master Circular for Foreign Portfolio Investors, Designated Depository Participants and Eligible Foreign Investors. Depositories, Custodians, and Designated Depository Participants must update their systems to reflect this change, which comes into force with immediate effect.
