Bank of Albania Regulation on Liquidity Risk Management

The Bank of Albania’s Supervisory Council issued this regulation to establish minimum standards for managing liquidity risk across all domestic banks and foreign bank branches. It mandates institutions to implement a comprehensive framework encompassing defined strategies, organizational structures, internal controls, and dedicated information systems. The rules require regular cash flow forecasting, quarterly stress testing, biennial contingency plans, and continuous monitoring of funding concentration and maturity gaps to replace prior liquidity guidelines.
