Finantsinspektsioon Clarifies Competence Requirements for Crypto Company Staff

Finantsinspektsioon, implementing European Securities and Markets Authority guidelines, mandates that crypto asset service providers ensure client-facing staff possess the qualifications and experience required under the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA). Personnel providing investment advice must demonstrate higher competency levels than those merely issuing information, and firms are required to conduct annual skill assessments alongside regular training programs. These harmonized standards take effect on 28 July 2026 to standardize competency evaluations, thereby strengthening investor protection and market confidence.
