2 files · 2 PDF pages

Effective January 19, 2027, FINRA qualification examination candidates must wait 15 calendar days to retake a failed exam, or 60 days if failing three or more times within two years. This applies to all FINRA qualification examinations, including the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and representative and principal exams under Rule 1220. Firms must file Form U4 in the Central Registration Depository (CRD) to enroll individuals, while SIE candidates may use FINRA’s Test Enrollment Services System (TESS). Enrollment expires if the exam is not taken within 120 days, requiring re-enrollment.
