Formal Version of Physical Risk Assessment Platform
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has released the formal version of its Physical Risk Assessment Platform to help authorized institutions enhance their understanding of physical climate risks. This update introduces expanded hazard models including tropical cyclone storm surge and landslide capabilities, alongside localized building archetype settings and improved system performance features. The regulator encourages all authorized institutions to register for the tool and notes that further training workshops and continuous enhancements will be provided to support the banking sector.
