Guidelines for the Stock Exchange to Observe in Repo Transactions

The Stock Exchange must require Brokerage Houses to provide collateral for fixed-income repo sales, considering security liquidity. Compliance with collateral margins is established in three stages. If collateral is insufficient, the Stock Exchange must require Houses to restore it. Reported securities must remain under the custody of a Company Specialized in Securities Custody. The Stock Exchange must require collateral from Brokerage Houses based on repo operation volume to reduce risk exposure. The Stock Exchange and CEDEVAL must adopt mechanisms for adequate repo functioning. Instructions from both companies must be communicated to the Securities Superintendence at least 5 business days in advance. The Stock Exchange must inform the Securities Superintendence within three business days following any non-compliance by Brokerage Houses.
