Hong Kong-Related Designations Updates and Removals
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) removed persons previously designated under the expired Executive Order 13936 from the SDN List and added individuals sanctioned under the Hong Kong Autonomy Act to the Non-SDN Menu-Based Sanctions List. This action follows the expiration of the national emergency declared in E.O. 13936, while the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act and the Hong Kong Autonomy Act remain in effect. OFAC also intends to amend the Hong Kong-Related Sanctions Regulations to reflect this expiration and will update associated guidance.
