Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations
The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) amends 31 CFR Part 560 to incorporate General License D-2 into the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations, effective May 17, 2024. The rule authorizes U.S. persons to export, reexport, or provide certain services, software, and hardware incident to internet communications to Iran, including cloud-based services and specific hardware listed on OFAC’s website. It also permits the importation of previously exported items into the United States or third countries and allows for repair services conducted outside Iran, while restricting web-hosting services for Iranian commercial entities.
