New Banknote Designs Introduced in Turkmenistan
The Central Bank of Turkmenistan will introduce modified 1, 5, and 10 manat polymer notes and a new 200 manat polymer note starting December 1 to commemorate the nation's 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality. These updated banknotes feature enhanced anti-counterfeiting measures, improved durability, and thematic designs including the International Year of Peace and Trust emblem and the Arkadag Monument. All domestic enterprises and institutions must accept the new notes at face value for all transactions, while previous series from 2009 through 2020 retain their status as legal tender.
