Notice to Registered Money Services Businesses: Registration Renewal Deadline
Registered money services businesses must renew their registration by December 31, 2008, if they last renewed in 2006 or initially registered in 2007. Renewals require completing the August 2008 version of FinCEN Form 107, checking Item 1b, and mailing it to the IRS-Enterprise Computing Center. The form mandates five specific fields: legal name, address, city, state, and EIN or SSN/ITIN. Businesses that properly mailed the form by the deadline have fulfilled their requirement and should receive an acknowledgement letter within eight weeks.
