Q&A on applying for the group capital test under the IFR
Investment firms may apply for permission to calculate group-level capital requirements using the group capital test under Article 8 of the IFR instead of prudential consolidation under Article 7. Applicants must submit an organization chart, intra-group exposures, solvency calculations, and explanations demonstrating that the group structure is sufficiently simple and poses no significant risks to customers or the market. The regulator will assess these applications against Article 8 conditions and EBA guidelines, formally deciding on permissions after the IFR/IFD enter into force in the Netherlands.
