Recommendation of the European Systemic Risk Board on funding of credit institutions (ESRB/2012/2) consolidated text as at 2016-04-21

National supervisory authorities are required to intensify assessments of credit institutions' funding and liquidity risks, monitor asset encumbrance levels, and evaluate plans to reduce reliance on public sector funding. The European Banking Authority must develop guidelines on harmonized templates for reporting funding plans and asset encumbrance transparency, while also coordinating Union-level monitoring of these risks. Specific deadlines are established for reporting interim and final assessments to the ESRB and the Council, ranging from 2013 to 2017, to ensure compliance with the recommendation's implementation criteria.
