The Regulations define mortgage loan categories, including high-value housing loans with specific value thresholds for Taipei City (NT$70 million), New Taipei City (NT$60 million), and other areas (NT$40 million). They impose loan-to-value limits of 30 percent for corporate borrowers and high-value loans, 50 percent for natural persons with one existing loan, and 40 percent for idle industrial land, while prohibiting loan increases for renovation or working funds. Financial institutions must verify borrower history via the Joint Credit Information Center and Nationwide Property Tax Master Registry, submit development plans for land loans, and file periodic reports. The amended rules take effect on September 20, 2024, applying to loans processed after that date.
