The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) may delegate NT dollar issuance management to other banks and prescribes limits on bringing NT dollars into or out of the ROC, requiring approval for amounts exceeding these limits. The regulations prohibit mailing NT dollars across borders, ban counterfeiting, altering, or deliberately damaging the currency, and forbid selling or publicly displaying copies. Violations of currency integrity or cross-border transport rules result in penalties under applicable laws and the withdrawal of non-compliant funds. These provisions took effect on July 1, 2000.
