Regulations on Real Estate Investment Trusts

The Capital Market Authority of Rwanda has issued Regulation No 14 to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for real estate investment trusts and their management companies. The regulation designates these trusts as the sole entities permitted to make public offers or seek stock exchange listing for their units, while defining key operational roles such as trustees, auditors, and property valuers. By standardizing registration procedures, capital requirements, and governance structures, the framework aims to secure stable, competitively priced global capital for professionalized property businesses.
