Requirement That Currency Dealers and Exchangers Report Suspicious Transactions

FinCEN proposes to amend 31 CFR 103.20(a)(1) to require currency dealers and exchangers to report suspicious transactions to FinCEN. The proposal also adds a fourth reporting category for transactions suspected of facilitating criminal activity and updates the telephone number for FinCEN’s Financial Institutions Hotline in 31 CFR 103.20(b)(3). These amendments would apply to transactions occurring 180 days after the publication of the final rule.
