Resolution 122/2007 Approving the Foreign Exchange Position Regulation for Banking and Non-Banking Financial Entities

The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Bolivia approves the Foreign Exchange Position Regulation for Banking and Non-Banking Financial Entities, replacing previous resolutions 109/97, 148/97, 064/98, 011/02, and 076/03. The regulation establishes daily calculation methods for foreign exchange positions and sets limits allowing a long position up to 70% and a short position up to 20% of accounting equity for foreign currencies, and a long position up to 20% for MNUFV. Entities exceeding these limits for more than two business days face suspension from Central Bank operations, while violations lasting over 15 business days also result in suspension from ALADI reciprocal payment and credit agreements. The regulation enters into force on January 1, 2008, and exempts the Productive Development Bank (BDP) from its application.
